Transforming Lives Across North and South America
The Americas region is home to immense natural beauty, rich cultural diversity, and complex social dynamics. The Global Monitoring Center (GMC) is dedicated to addressing some of the region’s most pressing challenges, including human rights violations, environmental degradation, and threats to democratic integrity. Working closely with local partners, GMC’s initiatives are tailored to protect the rights of Indigenous populations, support environmental conservation, and foster active civic engagement. Stories of Resilience and Impact
Across the Americas, GMC’s initiatives are creating meaningful change. Here are some success stories that showcase our dedication to empowering communities and protecting the environment.
Defending the Rights of the Yanomami (Brazil)
Working with the Yanomami Indigenous group, GMC helped secure legal protections for thousands of acres of their ancestral land in the Amazon. This project enabled the Yanomami to preserve their way of life and protect their natural resources.
Empowering Youth in Civic Participation (USA)
In partnership with U.S.-based nonprofits, GMC’s Civic Engagement program reached over 10,000 young adults in historically low-turnout regions. The program provided education on voter rights and tools for advocacy, empowering the next generation of democratic leaders
